On October 23, 2024, the section titled "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan's New Energy Strategy" was officially opened at the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Nakhchivan.
First, event participants visited the monument of National Leader and laid flowers in his honor.
As part of the opening ceremony, a round table on "energy policy" was organized.
Speaking at the round table, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Elshad Aliyev, emphasized that thanks to the wise leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern independent Azerbaijan, the adoption of the tricolor flag as a state symbol in the supreme legislative body of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 1990 holds significant historical importance for both the country and its people.
Elshad Aliyev highlighted that the National Leader consistently prioritized the sustainable progress of Nakhchivan throughout his career. He noted that, despite the challenges of being in a blockade, essential steps were taken to ensure the continuous development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and to further enhance the well-being of its population.
Aygun Huseynova, SOCAR’s Chief Communications Officer, noted the significance of 2024 as the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the 30th anniversary of the signing of the "Contract of the Century", and the 75th anniversary of "Oil Rocks". She particularly emphasized the importance of opening the “Heydar Aliyev and energy strategy” section at the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Nakhchivan, an initiative led by SOCAR.
Chief Communications Officer Aygun Huseynova spoke about the pivotal role of the energy strategy defined by the National Leader in Azerbaijan's comprehensive development, highlighting the National Leader’s dedicated support for the advancement of the country’s oil and gas industry and his deep regard for oil workers.
Chairman of the Nakhchivan branch of ANAS, Ismayil Hajiyev, emphasized that National Leader Heydar Aliyev consistently prioritized the sustainable development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He noted that, under the National Leader’s guidance, significant measures were implemented to secure Nakhchivan’s energy security and provide the population with a reliable electricity supply.
Hasan Seyidov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Acting Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, highlighted the National Leader’s dedication to advancing culture and the arts in Nakhchivan, as well as preserving historical and cultural monuments. He elaborated on the numerous initiatives and efforts undertaken in these areas.
Ramil Orujaliyev, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Museum, shared insights into the museum's activities, emphasizing that the materials on display related to the life and socio-political activities of the National Leader, including historical documents, rare photographs, and personal belongings, attract significant interest from both visitors and researchers. He also noted that establishing the "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan's New Energy Strategy" section has made a valuable contribution to further enriching the museum's collection.
Following this, the section "Heydar Aliyev and the New Energy Strategy of Azerbaijan" was opened.
This section, established on the initiative of SOCAR, includes rare photographs showcasing the implementation of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's new oil strategy, highlighting his dedicated attention to the development of Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry and oil workers.
Displayed items include models of the 6th-generation semi-submersible drilling rig named after the National Leader, the "President Heydar Aliyev" tanker model, a copy of the "Contract of the Century", and other notable documents.
Afterwards, the guests explored the museum.
